New Look and Jars coming soon - all Mason Jar styles now on Final Clearance
June 21, 2025
We are very excited to be releasing a new look for our candles soon. For customers who have been with us from the beginning, you have seen us go through several changes over the years. Over the years, due to our size and supply constraints, we were forced to make changes to our look, and the jars and labels we have been utilizing recently are a great departure from where we started.
Our first designs (when we only sold on Etsy) were this full-colored label offered in a 8oz and 16oz jar, as well as tins. We loved everything about this look, especially because of the wide mouth jars. Unfortunately, we only had an ink-jet printer at the time and this style label was costing us a fortune to print.
Also, the 8oz jars we loved were discontinued and replaced with a 12oz version. Since having a 12oz and 16oz seemed too similar, we replaced both sizes with the 12oz, that became our long-held signature jar. We also added a 4oz size. Since we needed a new labels for the new jars, we changed our look to a new version requiring less ink.
Then we did one more alteration that became our signature look for many years. (I still love this look so much!)
Then in 2020, we were forced to abandon the 12oz jars due to the pandemic. The jars were made in the U.S. but the lids were made in Canada and the wick came from Germany. Both items were essential and we simply could not get enough to keep up with the demand of the orders we were getting.
Mason jars were plentiful, so we transitioned to the Mason jar style. We initially used a clear and black label as it was quick to create and ink was once again an issue due to supply and demand during the pandemic.
Once the pandemic supply issues lessened, we created the white labels with little watercolor images, mostly painted by my cousin's extremely talented wife, Brenna. The little custom images have been so charming and exactly what I envisioned for where we were at this evolution of the brand.
Since the pandemic, we have continued to use the Mason jars, but never truly loved the jars themselves. We miss the wider jars we have had in the past. While we call ourselves The Flying Farm, we never intended to limit ourselves to the trendy modern farmhouse look. We have always leaned towards the bolder, more retro look with which we started.
Change is hard, and we know the new look will not be for everyone, but it is who we are. There are a lot of candle companies, and this is ours. We will always bring you candles with true-to-the-name scents that you have come to love. We hope you will enjoy the new jars and all the new scents we are looking forward to releasing.

Coconut wax is majorly trending right now as the hot new must-have natural product. The message being conveyed is that coconut wax candles are cleaner burning than paraffin and produce a better scent throw than soy. Sounds great, right? We thought so, so this past year we seriously looked into switching to coconut wax. Our personal conclusion is that coconut wax is a Trojan Horse, making a lot of claims and promising amazing benefits but is mostly a hugely misleading gimmick.
